This remarkable Rwanda 6-day adventure in Rwanda offers the opportunity to explore this land of a thousand hills with incredible wildlife encounters. You will also visit the Volcanoes National Park in search of endangered mountain gorillas with expert local rangers. You’ll also have an opportunity to explore Kigali and its colorful markets.
This tour takes you to the Akagera National Park which is Central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda. It is again a Big Five destination after the recent reintroductions of lion and black rhino. Other animals include elephant, buffalo, giraffe and hippo. In terms of pure wildlife viewing, Akagera can’t quite compete with the more famous parks in Kenya and Tanzania. However, the park is very scenic and the birdlife is particularly rewarding. You will also visit the Volcanoes National Park in search of endangered mountain gorillas with expert local rangers. If time permits you’ll also have an opportunity to explore Kigali and its colorful markets.
Arrival of your flight at Kigali International Airport. Meet and greet assistance. You will be handed over to and warmly welcomed by our Pallid Safaris representative outside customs and immigration hall. Transfer to Kigali Serena Hotel for Check in. If time permits, you will be briefed about your tour at the hotel lobby.
09h00: After breakfast, you will join your driver guides for a a tour of Kigali city that includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Inema arts centre. Lunch will be at the Heaven Restaurant.
14h00: You will proceed to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will have a briefing and will be introduced to your park guide. You will then embark on a game viewing drive in the park until 18h30. Transfer to the lodge for check in. Evening will be at Leisure. Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge.
Today after your breakfast, you will go for a boat excursion on Lake Ihema , which will take you to the island that is inhabitant to several species of birds.
After this, continue with game drive in the park. This will give you an opportunity to tour the northern part of the park.
The game drive in Akagera National Park provides you with the opportunity to see the newly re-introduced king of the jungle (Lions) as well as viewing gentle hills blending beautifully with lowland swamps and water bodies. You will visit the hippo pool, Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Return to the camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight.
Early Breakfast at the lodge. Check out and drive to KIGALI with brief game drive as you exit. Arrive and have lunch stop at Khana Kazana Restaurant.
14h00: Proceed on a scenic road transfer to Musanze & Volcanoes National Park, in the north of the country. Upon arrival at 17h30 you will check in at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. Evening will be at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.
06h30: After an early breakfast at the lodge, proceed to the park headquarters in time for Gorilla Trek briefing at 07h00.
We will then transfer you to the trail head of your guided walk that begins at 08h00.
After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch. This afternoon at 15h00– You will visit the Ibyi Iwacu village for a cultural experience.
Return to your lodge in the evening.
Dinner and overnight.
Today, you have an early breakfast and at 07h00 you will be driven back to the park headquarters for Golden monkey trekking briefing. You will then be transferred to the start point of your guided walk at 08h00. The Trekking usually takes about 4 hrs. Once you come to the habituated families, you will spend the allowed one hour with them as they go about their daily life.
After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch. 15h00, you will check out and have a leisurely drive back to Kigali. You can have a stopover at some local art markets just in case you would like to purchase souvenirs of this wonderful country. Later, transfer to Kigali International Airport. Bid farewell to your driver guide. Check in for your outbound flight
