What Determines the Cost of an African Safari in 2025?
(1) Destination Choice
East Africa is the most popular region for safaris since Kenya is famous because of its
Masai Mara and the great migration. Tanzania is famous because of Serengeti,
Ngorongoro Crater, luxury reserves and Mt Kilimanjaro. For Uganda and Rwanda they
are famous because of the Primates and gorilla trekking. Zanzibar and Diani Often added
at the end for beach relaxation packages for many international travellers also combine a
Dubai stopover on the way to or from East Africa.
(2) Season of Travel
With changing of season also the safari costs change with timing, where the high season
ranges from July to October due to the great Migration which lead to high demand, for
the shoulder season which run form Jan to March, and also from Nov to Dec mainly has a
moderate pricing. For the rainy season which run form Apr to May mainly is the best
deals and also have fewer crowds
(3) Level of Comfort
The biggest price difference comes from accommodation types such as budget camps
outside the park, mid-range lodges with standard comfort, Luxury tented camps inside the
conservancies and exclusive private reserves for premium travellers hence changing the
cost for different travellers.
(4) Travel Style
Two travellers can spend very differently on the same safari park depending on factors
such as whether they choose a fly-in or road safari, whether they join a group tour or opt
for a private safari, whether they travel as single or double occupancy, and how long they
stay for example, a 3-day trip versus a 10 day itinerary will result in a major difference in
total cost.
