Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted with warm Rwandan hospitality. You will then be transferred to your hotel for relaxation. In the afternoon after lunch, you will embark on a short tour of Kigali city. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, a poignant tribute to Rwanda’s history. As the sun sets, you will dine at a local restaurant and enjoy authentic Rwandan flavours. Perhaps you will try a plantain stew or Isombe (cassava leaves with peanuts).
Your day will start with an exploration of Kigali’s vibrant art scene. You will visit local galleries, where colorful paintings and sculptures tell stories of resilience and hope. For an exhilarating twist, you will hop on the back of mototaxis (motorcycles) for a thrilling city tour. You will zip through bustling streets, passing markets, street art, and friendly faces. Your guides will share tales of Kigali’s transformation. As evening descends, you will unwind with a dinner that blends Rwandan and international flavours.
After your breakfast, you will catch a domestic flight to Volcanoes National Park, a mist-shrouded wonderland. The park is home to endangered mountain gorillas, and your lodge offers breathtaking views of the volcanic peaks. You will settle into your cozy accommodation, surrounded by lush greenery. As the sun dips behind the mountains, you will enjoy dinner, eagerly anticipating tomorrow’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Today is the highlight of your journey—the much-anticipated gorilla trek. You will rise early, fueled by a hearty breakfast. You will meet your experienced guides and trackers and venture into the dense forest. As you approach the gorilla families, you will witness their playful interactions, watch infants cling to their mothers, and marvel at the sheer strength of these gentle giants. It’s a magical hour you’ll carry with you forever. After the trek, you will share stories over a celebratory dinner. Overnight at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will set off to track the golden monkeys. These lively primates inhabit the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. Their vibrant fur and acrobatics make for an enchanting sight. You will capture their playful antics on camera. You will have a leisurely breakfast by the lakeshore. Lake Kivu’s crystal-clear waters beckon. You will embark on a serene boat ride, gliding across the lake’s surface. The afternoon is yours to explore—swim, kayak, or simply soak in the tranquility. As the sun sets, you will enjoy a lakeside dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After a wholesome breakfast, gear up for a biking adventure. You will pedal through picturesque landscapes, passing terraced hills and local villages. You will arrive at a coffee plantation, where you’ll learn about Rwanda’s coffee production. You will sip freshly brewed coffee and savor a light farm-to-table lunch. You will cycle back to your lodge, taking in the fresh air and scenic beauty. You will return to Kigali, where your adventure began. into your hotel.
