Best Time to Visit Uganda

Uganda offers excellent wildlife viewing year-round, with distinct dry and wet seasons

Peak Season (Dry)

June - September & December - February

Best for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking as trails are drier. Excellent wildlife viewing in savannah parks. Book permits well in advance.

Green Season

March - May & October - November

Lush landscapes, fewer tourists, and lower rates. Birding is spectacular. Trekking can be wetter but still rewarding.

Birding Season

November - April

Peak time for birdwatchers with migratory birds present. Shoebill viewing is good year-round but especially in dry months.

What Travelers Say About Uganda

Real experiences from our Pallid Safaris guests

"Gorilla trekking in Bwindi was the most humbling experience of my life. Our guide, James, was incredibly knowledgeable and respectful of the gorillas. We spent an hour with a family of 12, including a playful baby. Pallid Safaris organized everything perfectly. I'll never forget it."

Australia

"We did a 10-day tour covering Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi. The chimpanzee tracking was fantastic, and we saw tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. But the highlight was the gorillas – pure magic. Our driver Robert was fantastic, and the lodges chosen were top-notch."
